CheckUp 2.4: Identify Urgent Curing Issues, Start Light Tests Seamlessly

CheckUp 2.4

The CheckUp app is always improving, so we don’t announce every update. But in CheckUp 2.4, we’ve made some changes that make it easier than ever for dentists to identify and address problems with their curing lights and to reduce the risk to their revenue.

You’ll also find that starting and setting up light tests is more seamless than ever, so it takes minimal effort to get into the regular light testing habit that the American Dental Association recommends. Read on for the highlights.

An action list for your most urgent curing light issues

With the release of CheckUp 2.0 we added alerts to notify you of issues with untested curing lights and irradiance figures that are dangerously high or low.

This information is crucial, so we’ve made it more obvious and actionable by adding it to a new alerts summary view, which is accessible from your home screen.

There you’ll find a list of all the curing light issues across your account, with our recommendations for how to address each one.

Your goal should be to eradicate each issue and clear out this list so you can be confident that you’re treating your patients safely and giving your restorations a better chance of success.

See how much failed restorations could be costing you

Restorations account for over half a dentist’s revenue, so when they go wrong it can have a big impact on your business.

We added a new display to the CheckUp home screen that calculates the dollar value you could be risking based on how recently you have tested your lights. The logic behind those calculations is explained in the app.

The intention is not to scare you, but to highlight just how costly it can be to gamble on an untested curing light. The solution? Test your lights!

Start testing your curing lights in seconds

The American Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association both recommend regular light testing. With our latest improvements to the CheckUp interface, it will take you less time and less taps to start a test, no matter where you are in the app.

We added eye-catching ‘Start new test’ buttons to the home screen and light information screens, so you can now perform your most important CheckUp task from wherever makes most sense to you.

Less time spent navigating through the app means more time for you to apply your curing insights to improve patient care.

Identify and add curing lights quicker

Most dentists have multiple curing lights, but the names of each model can be confusingly similar.

If you know every curing light brand and model off by heart then kudos to you. But for the rest of us, we’ve added images of each light to the search feature, to help you find the right one quicker when adding a new light.

A small visual cue that will help you keep your CheckUp account up to date and accurate, saving you precious time.

Accurate testing of different curing light modes

One of the unique benefits of using the Bluelight CheckUp Radiometer is that you can use it to measure the output of your curing lights in different light modes, like pulse and ramp.

You’ve always been able to select a different light mode when setting up a test in CheckUp, but we’ve tweaked the interface on the test settings screen to make it easier to find and select those options.

If you weren’t testing your lights in different light modes already then now’s the time to try it. And if you were, you can now be sure of accurate results by selecting the right mode before you test.
